Women

The Women's Ministry of UPC is an active and vital part of the UPC family. Our goal is to provide a sense of community for the women of our church where they will feel both cared for and loved.

We offer many groups, small and large, where women at UPC can get nourished spiritually. We also have many opportunities for the women of UPC to serve our community. For more information on our different programs, see the links in the sidebar.

These two classes are offered on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. from January 31 - April 18 (no class March 21).

We Believe in God
Who is God? What are his attributes? His eternal plan? His works in history? What is his plan for the world and for us? At the most fundamental level, the Scriptures were given to us to teach us about who God is and what he has done for us. In fact, knowing God is essential for us to understand ourselves and our world. Join us as we learn more about who He is and how that can be a tool for learning more about who we are in relationship with Him.

Parenting Study
Is your child just like you or are there differences that are presenting some challenges in your parenting and teaching? Raising and teaching children can be both wonderful and challenging. Come explore some new ideas that may help you with parenting and teaching your children. We will study these books: Different Children, Different Needs by Dr. Charles F. Boyd & Robert A. Rohm Ph.D. and The Way They Learn by Cynthia Ulrich Tobias.

1 Thessalonians
We will be studying 1 Thessalonians using the Navigators Life Change Series. Come join us!

This class runs continuously on Thursdays mornings from 6:15 – 7:15 a.m.

John
We are continuing our study of the Gospel of John using the NavPress study guide. We're casual in our tone (bring your own coffee, come in your pajamas if you want) and serious about God's word. Come and check us out!

Welcoming to all Women: We've all been placed in this time and place in history, as the tribe of women who are raising the world. And the beauty of it is that we don't all have to agree with one another but everyone is in and we all need each other.
Mentoring: Sometimes we need a wise woman who has been there and done that to bounce ideas off of. That's why we love our Mentor moms, they have sage advice and willing ears.
Leadership Developement: You have the ability to do big things. We want to help you gain the confidence to use your voice to change the world.
Honest Conversation: Realk talk is liberating. It frees us from assumptions that we are alone in our struggles. We value taking a risk and sharing your story in order to heal someone else from their isolation.

Relevant Teaching: Really, who needs another tutorial on how to make crepe paper flowers? What we provide is mommy friends who get you, hope-filled insight, and speakers who know we've only had three hours of uninterrupted sleep last night so they better keep it interesting.
Creative Activities: Create, imagine, and actually finish a project. We occasionally like to have something "pinteresty" (Yes, that is a made up word.) to make at our meetings. We all need a little time to indulge in a creative endeavor.
Childcare: Look, we all love our kids, but let's be honest: a little break now and then makes us want to be with them even more. We provide a preschool-style experience for your kiddos that they will love going back to.
